Okay, so this is blatantly stolen from/inspired by jess & carrie's threads, but i'm wondering- why can't more of us be honest with how we feel about others romantically? every single time i've been dishonest about it in my life (from embarrassment, or fear, whatever), i've regretted it in the end.

so today if you love someone, tell them. or if you don't love someone anymore, tell them.

I never loved you.

I always try to be as honest as possible. If I like you, I'll tell you. If I don't, and you ask me if I do, I'll tell you. Sometimes straightforwardness bites you in the ass.

i've gotten more honest about things like that as i've gotten older. Life's too short to pine away for someone or to string someone along who you're not interested in.

I agree that more people need to be straightforward in romantic relationships. Keeping that kind of information to yourself isn't a good idea.

But sometimes it safe and easy to have a little crush with no intention of revealing it. No real risk involved and fantasies can be better than reality. I tend to be a pining kinda gal. Pining doesn't get you anywhere, sure. But sometimes you don't really want to get anywhere.
