The water was spectacular! Warm & clear, and the waves were mild. Perfect for the kids. We drove straight to the resort and back. The only "pit stop" was in D.C. where we stayed overnight on the way back (left Myrtle Beach too late) and went to see the National Archives. It was not crowded at all. Last year we went to Virginia Beach and it was much more congested. No seafood. Firstly, we booked a suite with a kitchen to save on eating out (we spent a fortune on buffets last year!) and secondly, my wife doesn't like fish. Overall we had a blast! No. They do have piers there, but I'm not a big fisherman. I have a pier within walking distance of my house, so fishing isn't a "vacation" thing for me to do. However, I did get stung by a jellyfish. Does that count somehow? By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! | |

I guess ...actually, what was scary is that the piers were fairly close to the bathing areas of the beach...specifically the beach were WE were bathing...and sharks have been caught off those piers.
