Its great when your life fits into place

I'm quite pleased right now. I've set out my goals for where I want to be come the year 2011-2013. Have you got a life plan? Where do you want to be in 5-10 years time say? Are you on that path already? smile

I know wha tya mean. It is awesome when things in life just seem to fall into place.

What are your goals.

Obviously in 5 - 10 years I want healthy well adjusted kids. And I've defineltly sacrificed and chosen to stay home with them in order to make sure that the foundation is being set.

I also hope to have my house payed off.

Other than that, my only goal is to be happy, really.
I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

This year Im going to do a TEFL (Teaching English As a Foreign Language) course.

Next year I'm looking to teach hopefully in Japan.

When I come back I will be looking to maybe either get on a PGCE Teacher Training course or become a class room assistant.

Then hopefully, I will be qualified to be a teacher. I might then travel for a short while as I've caught the bug for it and then come back and teach. Hopefully primary school children i.e. 7-11 year olds.

5-10 years feels way too distant for me to plan, I prefer to take one step at a time and see where it leads me. The few things that I'd wish to be able to really make sure are on the future schedule, like meeting the woman of my dreams and having kids, are unfortunately things that don't quite make sense to set up as a "goals", since I can't work toward them in the same way as I would with, say, a career or a travel destination. There's just too much chance involved. I can hope and dream though.

It's so nice to be happy isn't it? In 5-10 years my husband will be getting out of the Air Force and we will move back to Virginia to be near our family. I hope somewhere in there I can go back to school to finish my Master's in Counseling Psychology. I haven't been able to complete it because of taking a break to have kids and because we move so often. We also want to purchase a house in Blacksburg, VA to have a place to stay for Virginia Tech football games.

I stay home too and I chose to do it. Lots of women (and men, but less so) ask me why I don't want to work. I say, well I DO work. Raising kids is a 24/7 job. I am happy that I have been able to do that and grateful that God blessed our family enough that I could do it. I know lots of women just have to work. I feel like I made the right choice for me and our family. I'll work eventually, but right now this is where I'm supposed to be.
