Those numbers are more than adequate to still play in the major leagues.

I don't really care for Bonds too much...a couple years ago I went to a Giants game and a kid approached him with a baseball to sign, and not only did Bonds not sign it for the poor kid, he kept the ball My husband and I saw the whole thing...comeon Bonds just sign the damn ball...

I have to disagree with you there. In an ideal world yes, parents or teachers should be role models. But how many homes have a parent(s) in jail, on drugs, are abusive, are dysfunctional, not around, not responsible, don't care, etc...?

Also, in in households where there is a stable parent(s), right or wrong, many kids still look up to pro athletes, musicians, actors, etc....that is just how it is.

In a way, Bonds isn't a bad role model. He's just a bad celebrity. He doesn't seem to like recognition, except on the field. I don't see him in commercials, or on TV shows. He's not a hypocrite, pretending to be a great guy, then refusing to sign autographs. He's consistantly a cold person.

There needs to be a sports forum.
