I just finished the last book.
I feel so.... empty. I got into them thru a graduate course. We had to read the 1st and 5th books. I read the 2nd, 3rd, 4th on my own because I got hooked. I liked the "Order of the Phoenix" movie, but it seemed like something was missing. I agree, tho- each one could be an epic unto itself. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

I saw this movie on Thursday. It was a giant turd as far as these movies go.
Can you name 1 thing that happened that advanced the story past the end of the last film? Harry Potter has a case of teen angst. I get it. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

You might too. There is a LOT left out of the movies. Try making a 800 page book into a 2 hour movie. It's not possible to leave everything in. I think they've done an awesome job of getting the right things in for the most part and there are plenty of things I'm glad they left out. But there are so many fun back stories and nuances that simply add to the whole, well, "lore" I guess. Read them. Just do it. well said carrie! seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

You should really start at the beginning, but I suppose this is ok. You won't "miss" anthing per se, but there are back stories you'll miss the nuances of But have fun!!! |

It's like watching LOST, only there's no Matthew Fox or Dominic Monohagn. And it's not on an island. And it's not a tv series. And it doesn't have any overtly sexual content in it. And the characters aren't as flawed.

Harry (in the movies) is getting awfully cute now that he's a bit older. It's utterly shameful, I know, but it's true. |

But the youthful face is a big turnoff to me. Though the cribbage (sp?) leader in the first two movies will make a handsome dude in 10 years

I've enjoyed all of the movies -- this one was no different. Loved Dumbledore leaving with Fawkes the phoenix and the Dumbledore/Voldemort fight. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
