I don't know about you but personally I think that an education is a HUGE part of taking care of your child - and these kids aren't gettin a proper education. Only in Arkansas! I can say this only because my grandma lived there, and I had the unfortunate opportunity to go to that backwards ass state too many times! I'm from Louisiana. But I've been in Arkansas for over a year now. And I'm not sure if any couple in Louisiana can produce 17 children within one marriage. Now one man with at least 4 ex-wives on the other hand.....!!!

So many cliches, so little time...
Let's see: Parental fixation with a letter in the alphabet? Check. Home-schooled children? Check. Arkansas? Check. Jim Bob? Check. One cannot make up this sort of tale...

This is something I would have assumned happened in amish country or something, 17 kids and still wanting more is beyond all reason. I remember that they make their own clothes and also buy clothes second hand. I should just let this go, and get on with my life but, something about this family keeps me coming back for more.

I don't know why, but they are fascinating. I'm amazed at how smoothly they run their ship. Everyone seems happy and knows their role. They do whatever works for them and they don't seem to complain. And as far as the fixation with a letter in the alphabet....My Grandmother named all 6 of her kids with M's. My mother tried to keep up with it, but ended up changing my brothers name to Jordan I wanted to continue the tradition, but it didn't happen..... I think it's cute Smooches;) [Edited 8/9/07 11:46am]
