Are you sure it isn't 011?

You need to rethink this texting thing. nod

Texting someone in England would be simpler for you, seeing as that's where you are. Alternatively, hop over to the states and text your loved one from there.

Don't say I don't do anything for you nod

It is 001 but if its not going it is probably that your mobile supplier has not allowed international text/calling so get the bar removed and it will work, a text to the US normally wont come out of your bundled ones and will be .25p for a normal or .35p for a long (over 1 page)

Not that i have ever texted the states boxed

00 is to call/text out of the country. 1 is the US digit. If u text a person in US u need the state digits as well before dialing the number.
Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

this is a lot easier than we're making it souund, i do it on a daily basis several times a day for work from eu to usa. my assistant even does it on her cell phone which is pre-paid. essentially, it goes like this:

001+ city code + 7 digit phone number

hope that helps cool

It was something to do with the networks, and texting, so I just gave her a call in the end. Thanks everyone

I did, and we solved the problem. We now communicate with two paper cups and a 3000 mile long piece of string

I think you add "+1" to the number and remove the first preceding zero.

Say that a UK mobile number is 07890 987654, you could dial it internationally as +447890987654.

So, if a US number is 0123 456 7890, I think you'd store it on your mobile phone as +11234567890.

I think.

It's years since I've dialled anybody overseas. The plus symbol should be underneath the "7" button on your mobile's keypad.

If it isn't "+1", it must be "+01". I'm sure it's one or the other. I just tried to Google (to verify) but it's hard to get search results on numerals.

The reason for that was that some orgers ate the pigeons that came to their door. neutral
