Iconic director Woody Allen may finally be making his first Toronto International Film Festival appearance next month.

"We wanted him to to be here so many times in the past," said festival co-director Noah Cowan of Allen. "Every indication shows he will.... It would certainly be a cherry on top of a very big sundae of a festival."

Yesterday, TIFF announced two more galas for the festival: the world premiere of Allen's Cassandra's Dream and the North American premiere of Julie Taymor's Across the Universe.

Cassandra's Dream stars Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor in the story of two brothers desperate to better their troubled lives. It features an original score by Philip Glass.

Cos I think he's lame and creepy. He makes my skin crawl and I think I'd feel MUCH better if I'd gotten to punch him just once. biggrin
