The Adder (Vipera berus) is a small, stout snake. It rarely grows longer than 65cms (2 ft); the male is usually grey or buff with continuous black zigzag pattern; the female is brown with dark brown zigzags. If you can bring yourself to look closer it is the only snake in the UK with elliptical rather than round eyes. I have often seen them in the wild, but will confess that I have never looked too closely at the eyes! The Adder prefers sandy sites, so open heath land is a likely place to find them. They will usually slide off when they are aware of you being in the area; they are more afraid of you than you might think you are of them! I like him.
He's odd. And hard to get along with at times. But he's always been nice to me. I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure

All I have to say about BlackAdder is that I really, really enjoy alot of his comments and I thoroughly enjoy talking to him, he has helped give me (personally) alot of different insights and perspectives on things...   Because of God..we 2 r 1~~Darren & Suzyn forever
