weekends away for just ME time woot!

shrug I think it's healthy and encourage all wives/mothers to do so biggrin

Both o' my parents could learn from you, Mach.

MoniGram, any feedback?

I agree with Mach...it's good for Moms, Dads, hell anyone to take a break from school, kids, jobs, life. If you don't you will go crazy! I have made it a habit that on most Fridays it's my night to go out with friends, for a movie, or drinking or dinner or whatever else might happen. I pretty much live for my Fridays! Will be loving them more once school starts up again, because it's a life of running son to school, picking son up, going to football games, basketball games, track, dances, etc etc etc... A person can get caught up in life and forget who they are...so it's a good idea to step back from reality like Mach put it. biggrin

I am so not a goody 2 shoes but, I have never played hooky from work in the 20 years I have been here. I kid you not. It is a curse my parents cast on me, never miss work unless you are dead or dying. My only time off has been on planned vacation days or holidays. Oh yes, and maternity leave, of course.

Yikes! I could never do that, I have been married 24 years in 6 days. When I want to "get away" I take my husband with me, he is my dearest friend in the world...I'd go crazy. Scary but true.

I am blessed. He is a wonderful man, great father, and he makes me laugh more then anyone in the world.

I haven't in a long, long time. But yeah, I used. Now I get almost 5 weeks vacation a year, so I plan ahead to take a couple days off when I know I need a quick break.

That's very responsible, Carrie. smile

Why, thank you. Thank you very much. smile

I think a lot if it has to do with the fact that I love my job right now. OK, maybe not love, but like a great deal. And that goes a LONG way towards feeling personal responsibility towards it.

Once upon a time, I wouldn't think twice about playing hooky for a week if I needed it. These days, no way.

So true, what works for one does not work for another.
