You can block those people without having to set your profile to private. I personally like to see a persons page before I send a request and I want to see their page before I accept. If it's private, then you miss out on friends, which is the whole point of the site confuse

Some people will only approve people that they know. I think that's stupid. why don't you just talk on the phone then? What's the point of a myspace if you don't want to know new people?

Smooches;)

I totally agree with everything you just said. biggrin

I'm thinking of changing mine to private.

Only cause I have pictures of my kids, and family members, and friends, who maybe don't want their pictures plastered all over the internet.

Plus its kind of unnerving when you get all these views in one day and your like, ewwwww, who is it, and why....is it a creepy old man.....yanno..

Like you, Carrie, and I forget, oh Muse I think it is.

I'm deleting mine though, or turning it into an avon network thingie.

Ya, really but I am talking more about people who collect internet friends, not keep in touch with people they already know.

I'm barely on mine anymore...only sometimes at work if I forgot to bring some music so I browse music pages and listen to tracks.

I'm not approving anyone I haven't already met. To have me as a friend is to be part of the elite. My friendship would be worthless if every loser on myspace was my friend.

That's why I don't post anything on my page that I wouldn't mind anyone reading. The blogs are just all a bunch of concert reviews anyway.

Now if a relative read some of things I've posted on the org, I would be mortified. neutral

I don't like to add people unless I've checked out their pages 1st. One guy sent me an "add", so I clicked on his page- he was flashing gang signs and holding up guns and stuff with his friends! omfg I'm almost 40 years old! Why the hell would he think I would think this was cool? What on my page gave him that impression?! confused

I've blocked a couple of people who seemed creepy... shake

But, I've at least met and had a conversation with everyone on my page, if they are not close friends. (Or they're Prince fans I've met thru here or along the way! wink) I try to keep in touch with them, too. I feel that's why they were added- so we can correspond on some level- even if it's only an occasional "comment". typing
I don't get how people can have 1000s of friends. I only have 55... lol

You haven't seen some of the crazies asking to be my friend on myspace. And I'm not talking about Dan either. No, the orgers aren't the losers.

Yeah, I always get random friend requests and then when I check their pages, it is usually wannabe gangstas wHo WRiTe LiKe ThIS or some random old man that I have no idea how they found my page. I don't know where they get the idea that I'm trying to be myspace friends with them. I only have my real friends, family, some orgers, and some Prince peeps as my friends.
