Good shout. I'm in the UK, and I'm one of only two people I know personally, who have Tivo. They stopped making it here a few years ago, and when mine finally packs in, I think I'll need several weeks' mourning.

A while back, I got Sky+ (a UK satelite receiver with built in HD recorder). I initially unplugged Tivo as I expected Sky+ to fulfil the same functions. Within 24 hours, Tivo was powered back up (and I humbly apologised to him), as Sky+ is shit in comparison.

So, any other UK folk have Tivo?

Very good question. I mentioned earlier about Sky (UK satelite company). Well, when Tivo was released here at first, there was an agreement with Sky to provide billing / tech support. What the actually did was steal some of the technology to make the Sky+ box. They then had no inscentive to market Tivo, as it was then a direct competitor.

Meanwhile, Thompsons (electrical goods manufacturers) were the company in the UK who had the license to make Tivo boxes. Thompsons pulled the plug, because they were not making any money on it.

Those of us who have Tivo continue to receive support (if required), but we've never had (and probably never will have) the newer generations (Tivo 2 and 3).

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day cleaning products and hand soap. I prefer the lavender scent.

You have to be gentle, though.

Another product I love: MSN Live Search Images. I prefer its scrolling system to Google's set-up (where you have to constantly click on a new page). You can also save images to a clipboard for comparison.
