Whats your song??

When you're feeling low, need a pick me up, do you have a song you sing to lift you?
It's a mess, ain't it, sheriff?
If it ain't, it'll do till the mess gets here

A lot of it depends on what I need as far as a pick me up.
Before football games I love listening to Rage or Ramstein
If I am beat from work or am wanting some music with my breakfast I tend to listen to a lot of classic jazz, Monk, Coltrane, Miles, Roy Hargrove.
If I feel like dancing old school funk records and Prince records.
Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

Don't Talk About It, Be About It!

Nikka Costa's "So have I for you" (thanks mimiviz !)
The 1 U wanna C
Erotic City can do this
So can Delirious or Peach
Hua Fang Gu Niang (Boudoir Girl) by Cui Jian (Chinese rocker and enfant terrible, actually an Asian Prince :->)
And some of the songs by the Hong Kong rock group Beyond
maybe some LMF (Lazy Muthafuckas, HK rappers) but rarely ...

To get my mind straight : Hit 'em up by 2Pac (I use that to gear up for
company presentations and stuff wink)

Probably "I can see clearly now", that's a pretty uplifting song.
RIP to a legend. You will live forever!

Anxiety

when i'm sad i listen to some deee-lite and it usually helps quite a bit. doesn't matter which song or album, though 'dewdrops in the garden' is particularly potent. kier kirby's voice is like prozac to me, so it could really be any song.

when i'm mad and need to laugh i watch the plasmatics performances from the tom snyder show, where wendy o. williams eats flowers and blows up a car onstage. that's a real pick-me-up.

I can get with that. "River of Freedom" makes me particularly hyperhappy. "Love is Everything" makes me a lil bit sad, tho.

No. Firstly, I'm rarely low these days and, secondly, I find some sunshine, talking to a friend and/or a nap much more effective.
