Pochacco

I would seriously question your motives if that is your main concern

I read your comment above. I think I'd have a hard time letting go.....I know that the main goal is to get the children back with the biological mother, and that is more often than not....a not so great scene. I'd have a very hard time giving them back.

Yes..it would be hard. But you have to think of it like this...if the child is put back with their bparents, then you can only hope that the parent got their act together, and now is willing to be a good parent. Now I know not all cases are like this. One can only hope. Or if the child doesn't go back to their bparents, then you can hope they get adopted by a great family! In the end, even with it being heartbreaking to let them go, you will know that you touched a child's life, and you will never be forgotten. Like I said..I have never forgotten my foster parents, they helped me so much, at a time in my life when everything was so crazy and upside down. They fostered over a dozen different kids! biggrin

If you become a foster parent, I think you might qualify to get one of those giant white chevy suv things to haul your kids around in from the state. NEW!

I have a new white Explorer. confused

Anyways....they question HOW DO YOU GET PAID....I feel is a valid question that I'm sure pretty much ANYONE would ask.

Teacher

Actually I think that it's healthy to consider how you get paid BEFORE taking these kids in - lots more people should do that before they have kids, biological or not. In order to give the child as smooth a start in your home as possible that sort of thing should be known beforehand.
Dani, if you do this you'll be doing something REALLY good. I know so many people who've been in bum foster homes, every single one who tilts the scale the other way is giving some child their hopes back. hug heart

Linda who watches Uzie is turning 17 this year, she has HUGE problems at home cos her mom is seriously psycho - Linda's a really good kid, she just doesn't like school and hates studying. Her teachers bring her down (her English teacher laughed at her in class neutral ) and her mom calls her worthless if she's just 10 minutes late in coming home at night (she has to be in at 10pm, 10pm people, at age 17!!! When she's 18 she can legally leave home and then she's moving in with me. She'll have one year left in high school then and by Heaven she'll do good - she has been studying here with me doing homework and stuff and she's not even bad. She's just gotten a bum deal with parents and asshole teachers. I won't get paid for having her with me, instead she'll get welfare to pay for her part of the rent, food etc. until she can get a job or student loans.
