Urban Exploration

Did anyone else read this article in The City section of today's New York Times?

http://www.nytimes.com/20...ref=slogin

It's about people who go exploring abandoned buildings, subway tunnels etc. Apparently they have these kinds of things in a lot of major cities around the world.

Here's one of the websites that is mentioned in the article. Click on locations and read some of those.

there was some book about how there are secret cities are highrise cardboard buildings in abandoned subway tunnels and stuff. There was a bunch of controversey about whether or not the accounts in the book were real or not. I can't remember the name.. hmmm I'm going to have to try to look for it.

I didn't read the article but the death total in our town is at 5 or 6 over the last few years from this kind of thing. Grain elevators are apparently not the safest place to be when you are drunk.

I watched a show about people who do this kinda thing a couple of years ago. It's extremely dangerous.

Trust me there are plenty of people who have a few drinks and then go out "urban exploring". Even without drinking it's extremely dangerous.
