You know, I filled out an online calculator to ascertain my "carbon footprint" the other day... Seeing as my place is usually empty during the day whilst I'm at work; I take buses or walk and I haven't flown anywhere for years - it was very low.

There was no question asking how many ciggies you smoke a day - it probably would have upped my carbon emissions to the same as the average family car.

However, it came back with the suggestion that I don't leave electrical equipment on Stand-By...

Don't these people realise that every time you unplug electrical equipment, you have to re-set timers and channel line-ups etcetera? If I leave my DivX Player unplugged for any length of time, the menu appears in German when I plug it back in - and it takes me ages to find the right option to change it back.

Anyway, I don't trust Al Gore for two reasons:

01) His wife is apparently not a Prince fan;
02) The Gores used to have dealings with Fred Phelps of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church.

So, my appliances are staying on Stand-By forever.
