How do pigeons lose their feet?! Several times I have seen pigeons without feet! This morning I stopped to get a breakfast sandwhich and the thing had way too much bread so I tore pieces off and threw them for the birds and I noticed one was walking slower than the rest and was hobbling and when I looked I could see he had no feet. Just 2 little stumps! Is it from disease? Do pigeons maybe attack other pigeons, like did other pigeons just peck his feet off because he wasn't as strong as them? I have seen this three times and it freaks me the hell out and I feel so bad for those little sky rats 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

when i lived in Sf i noticed a bunch of these feetless pigeons. i also noticed that several of them had somehow become entangled in strings, or threads which were cutting off the circulation to their feet.
tried chasing one down to cut the threads off and save its toes but it flew away

I saw one with only one foot and a stump by the wharf and another with one foot and a stump out on the street one time. This one lost both feet. I felt so bad But i did manage to throw chunks of bread away from him for the faster birds and while they were over busy fighting over the pieces I threw him a piece all for himself that he didn't have to fight anyone else for 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

The pizza guy at my work raises pigeons to race them. He has a freakin' coop on the roof of his house. AND he gave me two for Christmas! Told me I could come visit them to see how they are doing. No thank you. I named them Brad and Angelina and called it a day. They did poop on the bartender I hate though. Smart birds.
