Need computer help Can anyone help me with this computer problem?
I can switch the machine on and operate on my Cdrive. My pics, personal documents and music are stored on my E drive. When I try to open anything stored on the Edrive or to access it in any way I can think of, pc takes a nose drive. I've got some back-up copies of somethings which are stored there, but not everything, so, it's not quite death but it certainly is a monstrous and unjust catastrophe! I think I've tried everything like defragmentation and various virus checks. Nothing has had any effect. Can anyone help me out here? small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!

Sounds fooked if the e-drive is a separate drive which i suspect then i would suggest firstly try and make space on another drive and copy the whole e drive off in case it dies totally...then remove it and put it in to an external case and investigate further...sounds like it might be on its way out. Is your AV up to date?

thanks, 4 the reply mdiver, you're indeed a kind soul.
It seems that I can email the data on there! at the moment. Maybe things will get worse, so I should do it soon. An alternative plan would be to buy an eternal hard drive and and try to suck the data on to that. Does anyone know if this is possible? - considering that I can't access the "my computer". I think the transition would have to be initiated from drive c if at all. Just 4 the record: I hate computers!! small circles, big wheels!

Just 4 the record: I hate computers!! there are a multitude of ways you can copy direct from the dos and loads of ways to transfer. I would suggest you do this as soon as possible. I had a 500gb go pop on me a while back and even though i had some backups i now make sure its done weekly. If you need any help orgnote me
