I see your point, as an avid waxer. It's just a little surprising, how some have a natural "this is me" appearance, particularily when it's more hair than normal in that spot.
We have a well know surgeon who, whenever I would be on the elevator with, I had to look the other way. He had ear and nose hair growing in every direction. Outside the orifices.

yeah I have to admit being weirded out by stuff like that. there's a guy I know who has HUGE eyebrows, and I really want him to do somethig about them, but I don't feel I could say anything unless he asked. Or folks with long hair coming out of a mole on their face.

I think it's their choice to look however they want, but I wonder why they don't see it the same way I (and obviously others) see it.

But then, some people whould love it if I cut my hair, too.

what's the big deal?
i know some men who actually prefer a hairy woman.

I wonder what you are going to tell your daughter when she starts growing body hair herself. Body hair on a woman is "improper" and "indecent" and "vulgar"?

I prefer my body to be as hair-free as possible for my own comfort but if someone else is okay with being hairy, I don't see what that has to do with me.

Wow. I really didn't expect the org to be so hippy about it. lol

Would I find it gross? Sure! I don't want to see anyone's pubic hair!

Would I car if my nieces and nephews saw it? Nah. That's life. It takes all kinds. Good on her for not being so self-conscious about it. I can barely be in public in a bathing suit out of self-loathing for my body, andI take care of my hair. lol.

Isn't it a little weird that most bathing suits are not even wearable unless you wax or shave? As a guy I have to admit they look great, but I'd be pissed if I was a woman and couldn't swim without waxing my privates.

Your western sensibilities are getting in the way of nature. People can be hairy beasts if they want and show their belly snail trails to whomever they want, male or female. I'm not a body fasicst and who gives a shit what your kids see. I bet you let them watch TV. Trust me, they're already fucked.

I agree. It is never too soon to begin teaching children that bodies are gross and they should be ashamed of them. Hopefully your daughter knows to run away from any fat skanks and people with acne. GROSS!

I never once mentioned fat people or people with acne.
I consider my self overweight and I get acne.....I think people miss my point.

I have always taught my daughter to be comfortable with her body, but that doesnt mean that she needs to show her pubs and run around with her cooch hanging out in public/family places.

Its about respecting yourself, and respecting the children around you. There is a time and a place to be half naked and/or naughty. If you know you are going to be around young children wouldnt you wear a suitable bathing suit?

But who is the authority on what constitutes a 'suitable' bathing suit?

..now mind you, I've spent my entire adult life immersed more in the beach culture of South America and Europe, so I dunno, I don't understand (most) hang ups about showing too much at the beach or pool. The human body is very normalized in these cultures. I haven't even worn a bikini top to a beach since...confuse
At times small children wear swimsuits here, but for the most part we just let 'em run around naked. Even if its just a hot day in your garden in the city. It's hot and the human body is nothing to be ashamed of and they're kids for goodness sakes. This whole secenario sort of reminds me of that story about the apple and those two crazy kids in the Garden of Eden if you ask me wink

How in the world is that skanky?

You also failed to mention how the other apparently "skanky" woman was "skanky".

Why, because she was a woman in a bikini?

Can I trust this hairy woman
To hide out when I'm embarrassed
So embarrassed by injustice
That shuts doors on hairy women

There's no place inside this romance
For a girl that's clearly balding
So embarrassed by injustice
That shuts doors on balding women

We despise the narrow souls we tend
The balls of bones that skulls descend
The shallow pools of lust
That drown our tallest women

Though this is a place of business
Where they pay, with mumbo jumbo
I have praise for every fantasy
That braves a hairy nipple

We despise the narrow souls we found
That haunt us fifteen years from now
They just have no remorse
They shut their doors on women

I'm so embarrassed

You feel me, right? I mean even at the public pools the women are topless in Europe. I guess it has something to do with my country (U.S) being founded on puritanical principles that shapes us to view the human body as offensive and indecent...do you know when I was in the U.S. recently I went to the redwood sauna at the gym/spa and half the women came in there FULLY CLOTHED with their sweaty outfits and nasty street sneakers on? I almost died. I was like 'WTH....?' eek

I do nod. Just think of "nipplegate" shrug. Nobody here understood why it was a big deal shrug. On the other hand the US people seem to have no problems with violence in movies or providing their kids access to guns shrug.

I fail to see what's wrong or "not appropriate" about leaving one's body hair in place, and wearing a bikini. There is nothing indecent about body hair, so who cares if the kids see it? What, they might find out that not everybody looks exactly the same? Horrors! omfg

It's a water park. There are gonna be lots of mostly-naked bodies there, and I don't think anybody should feel compelled to conform to you or your children's standards of female body-hair removal "appropriate"ness in order to put on the bathing suit of their choosing. smile

No one had to conform to anyone's standards.....Just posted my opinion of something I experienced while out with my daughter.

Its a shame that people get so offensive on the majority of the topics that are posted on the org.

Damn people, it doesnt take much to offend people around here. Dont take things so serious.
