I agree that doesn't turn me on, but in a water park not everyone's going to look like a supermodel & have brazilian waxes. Isn't it better to expose your child to the truth about bodies, that some of them, even womens', have hair?

It's like saying "fat people shouldn't wear bathing suits." Who are we to decide for them?

Your western sensibilities are getting in the way of nature. People can be hairy beasts if they want and show their belly snail trails to whomever they want, male or female. I took my daughter to a water park on Monday. It was a bout 104 degrees and she agreed to let me put my fat ass in a water tube and float around while she plays giggle

So everything was good, until we got in line behind two skanky girls and a dirty looking guy. One of the girls was wearing a black two piece and was showing a bit too much. She turned around and GROSS!!!! She forgot to shave/wax the part underneath her belly buttom. I dont know what the hell that is called but her hair was black, long and thick. My daughter had this look on her face and wanted to puke.

She looked around, pulled my shirt up and then look at her belly. She couldnt figure out why none of the other females around us had no hair there and this girl did.

I truly didnt know what to tell her. Damn, cant even take my kid to the water park without someone being skanky.

What the hell is it called? and do you wax/shave it....On a man its fine, but girls, please.....its gross

I agree. It is never too soon to begin teaching children that bodies are gross and they should be ashamed of them. Hopefully your daughter knows to run away from any fat skanks and people with acne. GROSS!

I never once mentioned fat people or people with acne.
I consider my self overweight and I get acne.....I think people miss my point.

I have always taught my daughter to be comfortable with her body, but that doesnt mean that she needs to show her pubs and run around with her cooch hanging out in public/family places.

Its about respecting yourself, and respecting the children around you. There is a time and a place to be half naked and/or naughty. If you know you are going to be around young children wouldnt you wear a suitable bathing suit?

I was being overly coarse to try to have you examine your statement from another angle.
If you boil your point down to it's essence, you are complaining about a natural aspect of someone elses body. Hair grows on bodies. Our society says "cover the pubic area" and I don't think you dispute that was covered. This person has hair where you don't and chooses not to shave it off. It is not like she added something like a "fuck off" tattoo or even a piercing. It is her natural body and you had a problem with it. If she had a one piece and hair from her neck to her breasts would you feel the same way? Did her bottom look like she had a squirrel trapped in it with big tufts of hair out the bottom?

It's not about fat, it's about perceived flaws. You're complaining about a woman who's not being indecent, but having hair in a place that you find gross or uncommon. If she's not indecent then why should she need to cover up any more than someone who has some other feature that's not "perfect?"

Wow, how's this for shallow? disbelief

I had to re-read the initial post 3 times to make sure I had it right - it REALLY is bullshit. Whereas I might not be fond of hairy backs on men, it happens and NOTHING says it's anything wrong with it.

Amorbella - by your reasoning those men should always wear shirts, preferable with long sleeves cos they're bound to have hairy arms, too. Women who choose not to shave their legs should DEF not wear shorts. Should they wear a burka if they don't want to trim/pluck their eyebrows? You gotta reconsider your point of view here, or perhaps move to Hollywood where everybody has their own pool so your poor child doesn't have to see natural folks. Better give her a female private tutor too, screening for waxes and trims. God forbid she should have to see the rest of society, I hear some teachers actually don't pluck their eyebrows.

WTF.

I think flaws are beautiful, which in my opinion is a big turn on. I guess in this case you would have had to be there to see my point.

Actually I'd be right there with you thinking "gross!" But I don't think she should feel obligated to cover up.

If you're saying "Cover up!" as a laugh, I'm laughing, but if you really mean it I don't agree.

Everyone has the right to their own opinions. That is the reason why I posted this thread.

Natural folks are fine, I dont have a problem with that. I do have a problem, again, with people letting it "hang out" around small children.

I dont need to re-consider anything. I just thought it was not appropriate
and posted my opinion. What the hell does Hollywood have to do with this?
I dont set my thought and rules based on Hollywood. They are based on what I believe in and what I think is right or wrong? I dont apologize for thinking that she needed to cover herself up, or for my daughter thinking the same.
My child is very aware of the world around her. She is a very strong little lady.

So, If I think this way do you think differently of me? Maybe Im against "nautral folks", or gay, or white, black? Maybe thin or fat people? Some of you people here can be a bit "touchy". Its just an opinion.

The majority of posts I see around her bash people all the time
Fat people, anorexic people, people's problems, ie, cheating people.
