I think it's high time we cut the crap right now and discuss BURRITOS

Let's face facts: I LOVE BURRITOS. drool

Some of my favorites include:

Burritoville (Route 66 veggie chorizo, done crunchito style w/ tortilla crumbles mixed into the burrito cloud9 )
La Bamba (Burritos as big as your head!!! woot! )

Chipotle (Yeah, I know, chain restaurant hell. They do the trick when I'm in a pinch and I'm convinced they're at least semi-good for me, as fast food goes.)

What are your favorite burritos?

I love a chile relleno burrito!! they sell them at my local mexican food take-out. It is not a fast food place, it's a restaurant that sells to go. One big chile relleno, stuffed around a huge flour tortilla!!

there are vegetarian burritos! there are vegan burritos too, i'm sure.

though i guess technically, the rule is, if something's wrapped in lettuce and a tortilla, it's not considered meat anymore.

There's a place in college station, texas that lays claim to the "monster" burrito. My husband flies there a lot for work and loves them. He's way big into burritos.

As for me, there's this little hole in the wall in Pensacola, FL that's called The Screaming Coyote and it's awesome. I like their chicken, shredded cabbage, and black bean burritos. Shredded cabbage doesn't sound too good, but it really is. It's raw. They also have this great salsa bar there with 10 different salsas. MMMMM.

there's a place by my apartment that makes a huge honking chicken one i love.

chipotle is not bad, as nyc and/or chain mexican goes, but it's nowhere near as good as the mexican i got used to in texas.

i miss the hell out of freebird and the mom and pop places in austin.

I have to say, I'm not a fan of the bigger than your head burrito. I like my burritos a managable size.

And I think the pic you have is an enchilada, not a burrito. giggle

I don't really have a fave burrito anymore. I'm more of a soft shell taco girl, which is pretty close to the same, only smaller. And even then, I'm likely to enjoy the unconventional ones I'd make myself, like a breakfast burrito with eggs, veggie sausage, salsa, sour cream, cheese and maybe some green onion.

That is a burrito in the pic. A enchilada is made of corn tortillas and way smaller. This burrito is huge and has sauce on top. It is a typical mexican way to serve a burrito.

I thought it was the enchilada that was served with sauce on it. Hence the name "enchilada sauce".

I am from Nebraska..living in Oklahoma now, And the way my family makes mexican food, from how the mexicans down here make mexican food is different. Up North, they make their enchiladas with flour tortillas, and down here, they make theirs with corn. I think it might just depend on what region you live in. So...for you to think that pic was an enchilada, I can understand why. biggrin

You know, even if something is supposed to come with a corn tortilla, I order it with flour as a substitute. I don't like corn tortillas. So that make even more sense to me now.

We're Mexican and make all of our enchiladas with corn tortillas and they are covered in enchilada sauce none of that tortilla is left uncovered, yummy biggrin

It's different all over...I too am Mexican...but I think the farther North they went, they used what they could find. I make Tacos with flour and deep fat fry them...and my enchiladas are made with flour and sauce and lots and lots of cheese. YUMMY! I can't find anyone down here who makes their mexican food the way we do up North...so I love going home, and eating at my Aunt Pepa's place! lol
