i mean can i buy decent external speakers for my mac-ive got a shed load of downloaded tunes now but the speakers within the computers are hardly shaking my walls!

Not sure what exactly it is that you need, but I have Harmon Kardon speakers on my wireless network with my Mac, and volume is not a problem.
