...because we visited the CONEY ISLAND FREAKSHOW!!!

Of course, it wasn't as otherworldly as you're led to believe, but I was really impressed by the showmanship and the vaudeville-ish/old-skool freakshow barker who lured everyone into the shows. The whole thing was really cute, in a morbid kinda way.

We got to see the human blockhead; the tightrope-walking dog faced boy; the sword-swallowing contortionist; the snake charmer/human lightning rod; and a tattoo-covered fire-eater lady.

They also had a sideshow school where they teach you to be a freak. I wonder if they're hiring teachers? I think there should be an Org scholarship that awards a lucky Orger a full-paid scholarship to this class. If this happened, what would you propose as your freakshow persona? What kinda freak are YOU?

I was at the Pepper Lounge on Friday! My friend & I walked right by the Knitting Factory--the Pepper Lounge is at the east end of the block on the north side. The Pepper Lounge was supposed to be having Best of the 90s (Biggie, Tribe, LL, En Vogue, Snoop, etc.) DJ Spinna, who does the MJ v. Prince parties was spinning. But it SUCKED, he played like two west coast songs and then like an hour of reggeton, which I HATE. And I think the air conditioning was broken...it was a hot, sweating, funky (and not in a good way) mess. I told her next time I *think* I want to go, not to let me.
