When I was in my 20s I was wild as well. Not a drug addict but I certainly had a serious drinking problem. I have to keep saying this; this is not a Hollywood problem and I do not believe it's any worse in that community than it is in your own backyard. This is not me saying I have sympathy for her or anyone that is in this kind of trouble, I just hope that they get (and take) the help they need and I don't wish anyone to get "their ass beat". We treat celebrities different, like they are better than us. We have sympathy for Lindsey Lohan but if the crackhead down the block from you broke in our cars to steal our stereos, would anyone have sympathy for him? I doubt it. [Edited 7/25/07 7:07am] I would.

When I look at the addiction in my family, I see people who have no hope, who have nothing and don't see a way to get out of that hopelessness. I look at Lohan and see a spoiled brat who mother or father didn't put their foot in her ass and this is all just a game: she is just partying. Stupid bitches like her infuriate me. People in my neighborhoo have to get on a waiting list ot get help with their addictions and here she is, able to get help and is still fuckign up. So I stand by not having any sympathy for her. I agree with you,Lothan I have no sympathy for these young, spoiled,Hollywood brats who are out partying, snorting coke, drinking heavily and then getting into a car, risking their lives and others. For Christ's sake....can't they at least call a cab?? Or surely they could afford a chauffeur??!! They're out of control and don't deserve any sympathy. What they deserve is a good kick in the ass! Co-sign on both viewpoints.

People will sympathize with people they know (or in the case of celebs are familiar with). I'm not saying I do it, or even agree with it. I'm just saying that I understand it.

Send her ass to jail. And pregnant assed Nicole Ritchie too. They don't need to be put in with hardened criminals that will fuck them in the ass with a broomstick, but as (judgementally) far as I'm concerned these girls need a fast wake up call a là SCARED STRAIGHT ( any old skoolers out here remember that series?). Mind you, this comes from a woman who was once too young and living quite far on the edge those silly glamour indutries( youthful decadence & debauchery I suppose), and got away with MUCH MUCH in terms of bad behavior. But there comes a time you have to wake up, be a responsible adult. Eventually the 'passes' must CEASE...I don't care how good you look in your faux, revamped, Oleg Cassigni sunglasses. if some good hardy jail time is good enough for Shaundra for driving high as hell the wrong way down MLK, then its good for these bad ass girls, too

The men who claimed to be inside with Lohan told celebrity Internet site TMZ.com that, during the chase, Lohan boasted she would not be arrested.
"I can't get into trouble. I'm a celebrity," one of the passengers claimed Lohan said. He also said Lohan told police she was not driving and instead blamed "the black kid," referring to one of the other two people in the vehicle. Space for sale...

OLD SKOOLER!!!! I remember it very well...we went on a field trip to Central Lock-up in New Orleans when I was in grammar school (I went to Catholic school) and by the end, all of us were like ....and the lesson stuck many years later when I found myself in lock-up for a grand total of four hours and I felt like I'd been there a year.....NOT COOL!! I think that if they sent every celeb and athlete to jail when they screw up like they send regular folks, there wouldn't be a conga line to the cells like now...it seems like they're all trying to out-Paris Paris Hilton.... sad, really.... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

Well, your 2nd wish came true: Nicole Richie sentenced t...ys in Jail I already knew about that at the time I posted my last statement. I would have preferred that they had given her a week to 10 days, so it could REALLY sink in. Four days is too short, IMO. They have doctors in jail, they're there for the other prison mothers so I don't think the experience would kill her... ...also, Nicole, for whatever talent she lacks, has always struck me as a little bit more ballsy and swaggerish than the rest of that pack...she is what we in ethnic circles refer to as 'a fast-assed heffa'...that needs to be REIGNED IN. Four days in jail won't do it...but maybe a good 7-10...with that morning sickness, might do the trick
