I swear, my effing neighbour drives me insane Suggestions? So far I've thought of putting up a notice in the building naming the songs he's been singing and saying he sings false, without putting my name obviously. I don't wanna ruin this kid's fantasy but somebody needs to tell him he sings horribly. It's either that or file an official complaint with the landlord but I feel sorry for his parents. Singing with a mic and amp shouldn't be allowed in apartment buildings What to do?

And neither are Robbie Williams songs. Have you spoken to the child's parents? http://prince.org/msg/100/263154?&pg=2

Teacher said: 2ndRevolution said: And neither are Robbie Williams songs. Have you spoken to the child's parents? Well, It depends on your wording really. I mean, don't knock the door down and be all like "Look, your stinkin' kid's voice stinkin' SUCKS man...." or anything like that Or something http://prince.org/msg/100/263154?&pg=2

What to do? It usually isn't allowed, look at the lease. See italicised part, it's not loud enough to complain about. It's just BAD enough to complain about. Quote edit [Edited 7/23/07 10:17am]

That's how shit it is. I grew up with a brother like that in the next room, i learned that he did things that pissed me off and i got up his nose too.I am willing to bet that there are probably things you do that piss them off .....its human nature we all do. I sorta learned that it so wasnt worth the stress to worry about it so i tried to relax and let it wash over me. Each to their own though.Good luck with a solution.

Quote edit but if it's two floors down from you there are lots of people who are having to hear it too. it would be a reasonable request that he stop using the equipment. one can still sing without a mic and amp and i'm guessing you wouldn't hear it two floors up.

Yeah, I talked to my next door neighbour and we agreed he sings horribly but that's the thing - can you really ask somebody to pipe down just on the basis of his singing terribly off key?

How about you just go knock on the kid's door and ask him to keep it down a bit? Then, if that doesn't work, go to the landlord.

well, that will still be audible. but if his voice and keyboard are channeled through the headphones, chances are he will sing more softly, due to the fact that he can raise and lower the headphones' volume by turning a switch, and not by
