so, this is one of the best shows playing on broadway, and a personal favorite.

i was dreading the movie, mostly because of them casting john travolta as edna, a role played originally by divine in the original movie, and harvey fierstien in the original musical cast. i knew travolta would never be able to fill the shoes of those two gay legends, and edna should really be played by a gay man.

i went friday night with friends.

we freaking LOVED it!!!! WAY better than the producers, dreamgirls, and rent were.

we loved it so much we went again last night.

anybody else seen it? if you haven't, i can't recommend it enough.

I thought it was good!

Not yet- we were going to go yesterday but our plans changed.

Now I have to go see this movie! Going to call my sweetie and say..that's it you are taking me to see Hairspray!!!!!

I'm gonna try to see it this week.

I don't think it would be my kind of movie.


The only one out now that I want to see is "Sunshine", and none of the theaters near here are showing it.

It has Walken and a cute chubby girl. Looks like it could be worth my filthy American francs.

I trust your judgement. I was holding off in seeing this movie. I'm going to go see it now.

Travolta's face makes me crack up whenever I see it.

Just found out I am seeing this movie tonight! I can't wait!

it kind of cracked me up to think there is a really wierd grease connection in having travolta from grease, and pfieffer from grease 2. also, it was kind of odd to see her aggressively kissing walken again, like she did in batman returns as catwoman to his max shreck.
