The best and worst movie you've seen this year

Best: This Is England - Brilliant screenplay and fantastic acting.
Worst: Transformers - I guess I've gotten too old for this kind of stupid silliness.

Evan Almighty really was terrible. A comedy that isn't funny is always in trouble...

On the other hand I wasn't impressed by 300 either. I'd have loved it when I was 17 though. nod

It was so hard for me to pick a 'Best' movie that I have seen so far. But..it was easy picking Evan Almighty. I can't believe I went and saw that one. lol

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Each year I'm less and less interested in cinema; I find the independent films ridiculous, egocentric and messy compared to recent novels (for example, David Lynch last film is pure garbage), and the mainstream movies look bigger and more expensive, but not necessarily funnier (Spider-Man 3 is the worst of the saga thus far and Pirates 3...mmm rolleyes).
So, I don't know what to say...

Mainstream: 300
Independent:??

Not seen a great film to be honest. Spiderman 3 was tiresome, 300 was froth and no substance, The Convent was pretentious tripe with an ill though out story line and poor characterisation...

I am glad I haven't seen any of these. It's saved me the time and trouble.

Best: though it wasn't release this year, The Queen. Helen Mirren was amazing. Half way through I thought I was watching a Documentary instead.

Worse: That crappy movie bout the girl getting preggie after a one night stand. It had the woman from Grey's Anatomy in it. God Awful.

Best- Transformers. I have not seen a movie in the theater that kept my attention so well since X-Men 2. Yeah...it DID drag a little towards the end, but overall it was a good, fun movie.

Worst- Ratatouille. My mom made me take her to see it. I probably would have liked it more if it did not remind me of my job thru almost the whole damn thing rolleyes
