Ok...I know it is summer in Florida since my hair has been up like this for weeks now.

Well, in the summer my hair is always wavy and either in a ponytail or in a bun. My hair is very long, so I can't have it down when it is 90 degrees.


Something that I related to the summer is family. We all live within 15 minutes from each other, but for some reason, we only really see each other in the summer. We get together every weekend for bbqs and we just eat, drink, dance, and just have fun. We have done this for years and it has always been my favorite thing about the summer.

The one thing I hate about my hair is that there isn't anything else to do with it. I can give it some extra volume or not, but it pretty much stays the same no matter what. If it's a little bit longer I can rock some tiny pigtails, but it's rarely even long enough to do that.

As for summer, though spring and fall are definitely mt favorite seasons, I love summer in Mpls cause the people come out. There is a big difference simply in the number of people you see, out and about, etc. Every restaurant and cafe that can manage will have tables on a patio or the sidewalk. There is some kind of street fair or festival, generally with live music, every weekend from the end of May to beginning of Septemeber, often more than one to choose from. People are happier, friendlier. OK, maybe that's going a bit too far. Minneapolitans are generally quite friendly and a good snowstorm proves we love to help our neighbors as much as a nice, sunshiny day. But it's a bit different.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of summer. I don't like the hot, sticky, sleepless weather. I don't like the clothes to pick from. I don't like.... eh.

But there are a few cool things:

* Fireflies.
* People showing off a variety of beautiful shapes and colors in skimpier clothes (which can be alternately nice or downright lewd)!
* Night drives with the window down.
* Ice cream becomes not merely fun, but serves a purpose!
* August excursions, which have become sort of a tradition for my family.
* Those few unexpectedly crisp days that give you a preview of how amazing autumn will be!

Some you might not believe this but we haven't had any pleasant weather in the part of the UK where I'm from. There's been torrential rain in our part of the region resulting in mass flooding. I am sat inside with the fire on and a big hoody!

Nevertheless, I went to my friends wedding yesterday who I havent seen in a number of years. It was an exceptional wedding, she looked beautiful and the band played a rendition of 'Purple Rain' at the end. Whether that was for me or not I'm not sure.
