do you use a gps system in your car? i bought one, thinking i had to have it. the damn thing is worse than mapquest! it sends me all over the place and i can barely hear the damn thing cuz i got my music blaring. i guess if i was out of town and didn't know a damn thing, i gess it will come in handy, but while i'm in my home area, it stays in the glove compartment

The gps system in my car came standard.
I rarely use it. It has been helpful though when I needed it. I'm firmly planted in denial

I hate GPS. It's a scary big brother system with unneeded accuracy. Getting slightly lost is a great part of the fun on a road trip, and when I'm sailing I like to use the chart, the course ruler and the compass. I would hate to have some stupid thing telling me that my navigating is off by ten metres or something.

No, but I rarely drive in areas I don't know well. If I am going somewhere different, I just use a map

Me too. My car is old and doesn't have fancy things like a gps system. It does have great speakers in it though

Don't feel bad...I was ragged on the other day because my 9 yr old truck does not have cruise control The only time my truck has had GPS is when someone has brought the the annoying things with him and I argue with it the whole time. Guess I will have to get used to it.

Don't have a GPS.
The cities and places I would drive to , I know decently well. But I'd like to get one. In England we used one to find all sorts of places. It was quite stress free and accurate. Not perfect, but it beat the hell out of taking out a map and tracing the route, and memorizing or reading it to the driver. We basically could go places, have conversation the entire time, and occasionally get interrupted by the GPS to tell us a turn was coming, etc. Much better than the ones I remembered a few years back. Of course in Tampa, Orlando, and parts of Miami, it would be just an annoyance to me though.
