Blaxploitation Horror OK, I'm feeling a tad masochistic today and I'm in the mood for a reeeeally bad horror movie or two. I mean so bad it has me riding the wave of guilt!  Maybe one from the Blaxploitation days just to add some oomph. 
I'm checking out blackhorrormovies.com (which has really good writing, BTW), and "Ganja and Hess" sounds interesting, but too artsy fartsy and not particularly lame. Anyone ever see "Abby" or "Blackenstein"? They sound sufficiently screwed.

"Blacula" and "Scream, Blacula, Scream" are two of my favorite movies!! I can watch them over and over, cracking the hell up the whole time! I own both on VHS! I saw them when I was little, and living in a Black neighborhood, I was afraid to go outside after dark. Oh my God!
I "obtained" 'Black Devil Doll From Hell' the other week and I couldn't believe how bad it was. It was like Chucky on crack... And there's a page on that website about it!!! http://blackhorrormovies....ildoll.htm The "Devil Doll" had a freaky little tongue - and it knew how to use it!

I saw Abbey when I was a little girl. I don't know what possessed my dad to take me to see that movie. I was terrified. I was even scared of the radio ad for the movie.  | |

Seriously, though, William Marshall gave a great performance in 'Blacula'. It was very dignified, almost Shakespearean. I love the film.
