..I had a troop over here with me a couple of years ago.....all of 20 years old....who was so staunchly Republican/conservative, you'd swear he was twice his actual age....now, I really dug his passion and he could argue a point on its face very well...but when I dug into his beliefs, all he had to back himself up with was what others had filled his head with....when I sat him down and navigated some sources of information and disinformation, the look on his face is what has inspired me to become a teacher after I leave the service.....

I'm all for parents teaching their kids about some stuff, but they should show the way and then get OUT of the way...let the kids develop their own way based on what they've learned from all sources.....
