Herpes myth

Why do people think transmission of oral-to-genital herpes (or vice versa) is not possible?

ON another note, one of my best friends has full blown AIDS, but he will not accept it. It's something we don't talk about anymore because he insists that he's just HIV positive. He got a blood transfusion, god, about twenty years ago, and contracted it through the hospital. He only got $200,000, and he blew through that in a matter of years.

I feel badly for him, but he irritates me when he won't accept the truth. I don't badger him about it, but I admit that I used to.

I stopped after he got drunk and angry, chasing me around with a cut he had, telling me that he was going to infect me on purpose. neutral

Yeah, I know, that's why he's still my friend. I feel for him, because he's got HepC, and he's a hemophiliac. But he's also got a bad temper when he drinks, and I chalk it down to his depression over his health.

I trully agree with you.. Most people just don't realise that herpes transmits through breaks in mucous membrane, and the mucous in your genetals is the same as in your mouth.. It isn't a big job to research and find infromation, since there is a lot of it out there.. And sometimes ppl DO know the facts, but still act stupid... That to me is worse than ignorance: ppl have the knowledge they need, but they choose to ignore it.. disbelief

I can't believe all the stuff that ppl still believe about std's and etc.. I still hear stuff like: "AIDS - isn't that the gay-disease?" (words of a medical student) and that you can get HIV from a toilet seat... rolleyes
