Last night I got a call from my dad. We usually just chat back and forth over the computer. I was on Yahoo with him and I was telling him about a major accomplishment- something I have been waiting patiently to happen for some time now. In a matter of minutes he called me first to give me a hard time about being too nice to someone from my past. Then he told me that he is very proud of me for my accomplishment. He said "I could not have made it through what you have the past 10 months or even the past 10 years really- you are the strongest person I know. Much stronger than I have ever been in my entire life and I admire you for getting through it the way you did".

Wow- hearing that from my dad- someone that was never a dad while I was growing up but became a friend during my adult life.
I was those words brought me to tears.
What compliment have you recently given or received?

I received a card from a manager at my work today, telling me how impressed they were with a recent project I did. It was hand written and very nice.


Of course, I then got assigned a new project from my boss 2 hours later. If you do well you can only expect more work.

I have a nice "rear view" (i received).....not too sure if that is considered a compliment.....but I guess it was meant to be..

It's a problem. because a lot of the compliments come with a negative ending. Sort of like "you're really nice and kind but..."
Or "You're a great guy, but..."

So I don't consider them compliments. Meaning the last time I had a real compliment was umm...I can't remember

A really special compliment that warrants a mention, was from a dear friend on Monday.

I told someone once that the smell of their feet draw attention from their head once. I thought it was very kind of me to not make a joke about their head.
