86 now and still healthy and so up to date Although she tends to forget things now and then...

I love her so much.

Our grandparents have so much knowledge. We need to respect that and cherish it before they are gone

My Grandmother on my Dad's side died last Thursday.

Very sad. My Granddad's coping, but he's very shook up.

On my mother's side they're young (just 70) and very healthy. I love all my grandparents and miss my Grandmother dearly.

and 60 years later, i wasn't even born yet lol



if i am fortunate enough to have a child they will be in the same situation...
my parents have been married for 53 years already and i am nowhere near popping one out.
my grandparents were true pioneers however. i am intensely proud of all of them.

Here is a picture of my Dad, my sis, my Grandpa, and my Uncle Frank. I lost my Grandpa shortly after this pic was taken, and then a few years later my Uncle Frank. My Grandpa Hernandez was the only grandparent I ever met, all my other's passed away before I was born.

Here are my great grandma Josefina and my grandma Eloisa, from my moms side.
My great grandma passed away about 2 yrs ago and my grandma just turned 66, she still works and is in great health. This is my favorite picture of the two of them

All of mine have passed. I only really got to know one of them well. I do not have a good pic of her in my computer.
So this is me, my cousin and my mom's dad who passed away at 54.

I only met my grandfather and he wasn't very friendly

For my grandmother - The most amazingly kind, gentle, warm soul I have ever known. I cannot begin to describe how bereft I felt when she passed away but, at last, I know that she is finally resting in peace. A woman who went all the way from the Welsh Valleys to London as an early teenager to work as a scullery maid, returned home, lived through two World Wars, brought up three children, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, experienced most of the 20th Century and a little of the 21st. She was the most humble and beautiful person you could imagine. I only had one grandparent but I could never have asked for more love. I truly, truly miss her.

I only got to meet my father's mother (all of my other grandparents passed away) and she recently passed away two years ago at the age of 101. She was so tough, outspoken, and in control all the time. I think that my grandmother was a woman with so many freedoms during her time in history, and she was not the quiet woman that she was expected to be during her time, but the opposite.
