Aaaargh, i've got a "buzz" in my computer's sound I've had it 4 a while but my old sound-card was disfunctionning so i thought it was related. I installed a new sound-card 2day & the buzz is still here!!! I thought the problem might b connectic-related but after trying with both my hi-fi ampli & small computer baffles, the buzz is here anyway. I've also tried the volume control on the computer itself but it doesn't seem 2 have a software origin.
Please please somebody help me

Check the connection to your speakers.
Do you have mic? Is it on? It could be many things. You can also try plugging your speakers into a stereo or another computer to see if it's them.

You can also try plugging your speakers into a stereo or another computer to see if it's them. I've tried with 2 different pair of speakers: the huge ones with the hi-fi & the small direct 2 PC ones: both have the buzz. Do you have mic? Is it on? Nope. It could be many things. I know, that what bothers me It might b the huge amount of electric, USB & other bloody cables around the audio cable but hell, what can i do about this? I can't unplug everything Any ideas?

Can you hear the buzz if you listen through headphones? Will your headphones work if you plug them directly into the computer's speaker jack?
This might help determine if the problem is in the computer or the speakers.

Have you tried using a 3 prong to 2 prong plug adaptor? I produce music and have had live gigs. The "buzz" was maddening and I couldn't fgigure out what it was. When unplugged, I was cool. Plugged in, I got the buzz. I am assuming your puter is connected to your stereo (as opposed to speakers) (I have mine connected to a mixer and then to the stereo. Anyway, this is a common problem due to grounding and the wiring ...get an adaptor...they cost like 2 bucks and see if that works.
Do this test...unplug your computer and run it from the battery and play music. If you don't get a buzzing sound, that's your issue. If you still do, then I am not sure. Christian Zombie Vampires

superspaceboy said: Thank u superspaceboy! I think u're right it can b that because i remember when we used 2 record a demo with a friend, we had a buzz too & our "sound engineer" told us 2 clean-up the mess of cables that we had all mixed 2gether. I've tried 2 clean my cable here but with the comuputer, the scree, the printer, the external hard drive & all the USB between them there's nothing that i can really can do 2 prevent all these cables 2 cross each other. I'll try the adaptator & let u know what happens. My PC is connected 2 a stereo but i've tried with qmall spekers & the buzz remains so either it's my PC either it's that electricity problem. I'll let u know what happened.
