slooowly changing my life-anybody else stuck in a rut?

im stuck in a rut and rather miserable!

so ive quit my job-i leave in october-going to recharge my batteries back in the uk(homesick) then seriously thinking of applying doctors without borders-

realaised the love of my life isnt exactly compatible with me.....love,women...far far from easy-sometimes u just have to let go....

the unbearable lightness of being has been slightly lessened

anybody else wanna get out of their rut?lets start a support group lol lol

(not to mention cos i now live in newzealand im missing a certain few concerts.....)

I dropped my friggin digital camera in the pool trying to take pics of the poochies swimming confused ....and my theory on lost, damaged, or stolen stuff: replace it with bigger or better. That's my rut. Upgrade the camera....I don't do well with ruts. neutral

Stuck in a rut? No. In a rut? YES!!! woot!:

I like a good rut. People call me up and say, "I hope I'm not disturbing your rut, calling you up like this." They know how much I like it.

my job is giving me good experience in my field, but the hours are shitty because I'm on-call and try to make myself available as much as possible. I'm continuing to apply for other similar jobs, but with better hours

Yes. nod

I feel like a shadow of my former self at the moment - even my mates have noticed. That's not to moan or anything, just I feel like I've reached the end of a very long road. And didn't quite anticipate where I was heading. The journey was a lot of fun; the destination not so much. You just gotta keep yourself together and keep ploughing on. It's all you can do, sometimes. Hopefully, this will be a period of our lives where we all look back and realise what we learned from it, personally.

grouphug to all of you.

I have days when I feel like I've reached a dead end, and others when I'm hopeful about the future. Hugs for all of you too

i'm currently tying up loose ends of a long long rut and getting ready to dive into a big pool of deliciously terrifying uncertainty. moving to another state, quitting my job, moving in with other people after living alone for six years...it sends chills down my spine to consider it, but i can't wait! woot!

Jonylawson - I hope it all goes well for you.

I'm kinda in the middle of my changing life thing. I quit a job of 8 years to go to College, and start at Glasgow Uni in September.

I also split up from my girlfriend of 8 years in January there, for many reasons, none of which were her fault and all mine. Realised some major stuff about myself very quickly once I started College.

Right now, I'm determined to find out everything about myself, because I've spent most of my life trying to live up to what everyone expects rather than what I actually want to do. I've hidden behind "I can't do it" to save me the pain of failure or hard work when attempting something, and it's this character flaw I'm working on most.

As I said originally, I wish you every success in changing your life and getting out of the "rut" you feel you are in.
So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

I'm in a rut that I'm slowly trying to get out of. I've been making progress but today was a particularly bad day.

sigh

On the upside, even though this day's been bad, my reaction to it has shown me how much progress I've made. smile

It's just such a slow process. confused
