Do u use p2p's

I just downloaded something like 100 albums in 48 hours. I do this more or less one time a year, & then take the whole year 2 listen 2 everything.

Do u use 'em & how?

I only use bittorent. It's bug-free and super fast, and the variety is amazing. I downloaded a lossless [ie, CD quality, not mp3 crap] version of PE last night in minutes. biggrin

Yeah torrents are the way to go. I recently found the whole Sheena Easton Discography a couple weeks ago. God awful stuff.

I was curious bout her prince influenced stuff so I thought I would give it a try. I always kinda like Sheena just for the fact that she went from a country pop tart to a prince inspired slutty type. God that Rat tail!!!!

But overall everything sucked besides the stuff you heard on the radio.

thank god for the recycle bin.

The funny thing about this is that, despite her recording crap as much as she could, the 4 songs Prince gave here were excellent!

(& she was cute, too) cool

i don't use them. i don't like what they do to my computer, with pop-ups and viruses and whatnot. i know there's software that can inhibit all that, but i've still had those problems with P2Ps so i don't mess with them. i will DL things from blogs or stuff that people e-mail me, that's pretty much it.

Yeah, stuff like emule and other p2p services can be invasive. That's why I only use torrents, and mainly download from private trackers where you know you're not getting a bunch of bugs and sh*t.

I use Soulseek & never had problems with it.

As 4 the "buying 2 give musicians money" aspect, well... i've bought over 700 CD's in my life & out of them maybe 20 were new, all the others being 2nd hand in 2nd hand specialised record stores, so the artists never saw the color of my money anyway, then i'd rather not pay at all cool

As other people said BTs is the new trend for me.Never got familiar with usenet.I mostly download unreleased stuff like soundboards, and audience recorded material.I recently downloaded a bunch of old Dead Can Dance gigs. There's so much amazing stuff out there and people willing to share it and I give back as much as I download, through uploads, seeding, etc.

What are the best P2Ps?

I like emule but it has a limited selection and mostly full albums. Sometimes I'm just looking for that obscure hard-to-find song, like Pacman fever or something.

I used to use soulseek but there were a couple of aspects about it that really bothered me. My main problem was when the user on the other end would decide to stop sharing and I'd be left with half an album. Also, there was no real 'guarantee' for the quality I was getting and the download speed wasn't very good either.

Ever since I became an OiNK member, I've never looked back, and uninstalled soulseek from my computer. Great quality stuff and lightning fast too.

Soulseek is great 4 that, u'll find all genres but mostly being a funk & electronica fan, i can say that in both genres i've found crazy rarities, including obscure maxi-CD's or never reprinted 2 CD vynils.

U can also chat with people which is nice.

Is limewire or kazaa ever used anymore?
There were too many viruses being sent around on those the last time I bothered (3 years ago or so)
