The other day I was shopping in a major supermarket and went to get a trolley and a woman was also collecting one at the same time and she let out a big sigh. I responded by saying that it seemed to be one of those days and she started saying that she was going to the Dr at the hospital because she has breast cancer and was hoping for some good news. She said that she had a friend she met at the clinic and were going through the same processes together. She said that her friend had the news that she had inflammatory cancer of the breast even though she had a mascetomy. She then said that her breast was now inflamed and she expected the worse. Right there and then in the middle of the supermarket she started crying and said that she had no one to talk to. I gave to a big cuddle and she cried into my shoulder holding on. When she had cried out, I took her for a cup of tea and we talked and afterwards I gave her another cuddle. She said that she felt better and said that I shouldn't have cried like that because I hardly know you. I said that I was the friend that she needed at the time. She gave me a kiss on the cheek and I now have her phone number and we talk. The cuddles helped.

i shut down on the cuddle a year or so ago, but now i'm back to full-spooning levels. i think it's all a matter of the material i have to work with.
