When I return from picking up Joshua from work I will post the pix I just took of my friend the Black Snake that lives in my yard

He has grown about a foot in length this summer I am guessing he is a 3 yr old or so is almost 3 feet long maybe

I have two snake stories:

1. Shortly after our son was born, I came home from a hard day of playing golf. Curled on the porch was a huge snake. I yelled at my wife through the door to keep it closed on account of said snake. I pulled out a golf club - a 6-iron to be precise. I thought I needed more club so I traded it for my 4-iron. I gave the snake one good whack and it was dead. Truth be told, it was probably already sick. I know it's not much of a story but I like the "I need more club" part.

2. We have a quacking snake in our backyard. It's a small, black-with-orange-markings snake and it quacks exactly like a duck. No one ever believes me until they hear it and can't see any ducks around.

So I am in the upper bathroom and I look out the window towards my rose bushes on the back hill and I see him ... skip downstairs and grab the camera and go outside and snap this

so i take a few steps closer to try to get another shot and he squirms straight towards me, between my legs and heads towads the back wall of the house

so i follow him and snap this

kinda looks like a "her" to me

We took Lucy to the Prospect Park petting zoo here in Broolyn recently and she pet a python!

Though the Guinea pig freaked her out.

I think she wanted to take a meerkat home with her...

NO they are not poisonous ... just a normal snake with no super squeezing powers

when the little ones ( under a foot long ) come round I'll pick them up and admire them thouh the larger ones wont tolerate that and will snap at you

I used to have a huge female living round the house she was around 4-5 feet long they eat mice/rats and stuff like that ...oh and chicken eggs

Guinea pigs are cute but they kinda freak me out too

I wish I could find the pix of the 4 1/2 foot copperhead I killed with a rock a few yrs ago

they are so beautiful AND poisonous

it was in my basement because i left the door open all day, came in to cool off on the concrete - that is the only reason I killed it, it was IN MT SPACE man

^^^^^correcto mondo! Black Snake/Rat Snake, had one as a kid, 6ft of glossy Black speed. Rats, Mice, and most definately Chicken eggs are it's main diet. Neighbors got freaked and killed it. This was in the Central part of the U.S.(Near the Gulf Coast).

my sly is half rat snake..

Oh my god, am I the only one freaked out by snakes??!! I would die! I once saw a snake by the trash cans where we used to live in some apartments about 10 yrs. ago. I RAN home, locked my door, ran upstairs to look out the window to see it it had followed me home. True story.

I quite like snakes. I think they are beautiful and I like their personalities.

When my boyfriend and I were on a rainforest hike in trinidad some weeks ago we saw this very dangerous snake called Bothrops atrox.






My boyfriend wanted to take the pictures himself even though our guide asked him if he should take them instead.
