P.Org Focus Group - Please participate

I run a an entertainment marketing firm that includes an incentive travel/contest division catering to sponsors wanting promotions/contests that revolve around entertainment. U know the contests; you hear the trip giveaways on TV, radio and see them in magazines or on web sites - Win A Trip to ... We send lucky winners to Concerts with backstage passes/Meet & Greet, Award Shows, major Sporting events, do TV walk-ons, win home entertainment systems etc. etc.

After 20 years, you can well imagine that it gets difficult coming up with fresh contests/ideas. We regularly hold focus groups to get ideas but this round, the staff here suggested taking the question to all you peeps at P.ORG.

So, we ask U...what would your 'Ultimate' Trip or Contest Prize be? We'll review all your suggestions and the ones we feel are the most spectacular, we'll reward you with something...probably Prince related.

BTW, we know that a great percentage of you will want to suggest something involving Prince. Try and stay away from this - give us something different.

Your participation would be much appreciated. So c'mon tell us what your 'ultimate' prize will be.

I'd have to say 1million dollars would be a nice prize.
But if you say take a trip or vacation.
The Ultimate would be a Free Trip to the European Countries...(France/Italy/England/Germany/)
Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!

Doesn't have to be a trip, although a great % of the contests are... but definitely not CASH.

Off the top of my head, i rarely see any trips to Nantucket, Massachusetts. Granted it gets cooler in late September than say Mexico or Hawaii--but it is a beautiful island and quite different than your average hot weather getaway.
There are no corporate hotels or bland architecture. The local statutes are very strict about the homes built and restrict them to one kind of siding which give the 3-5 mile island a very Colonial feel.
I'd recommend sending people there in the mid-summer when the water is peak warm and the nude beaches are full.(i'll be there next summer visiting my brother and his wife)

---
Another beautiful area is the coast of Maine. Imagine the postcards with the lighthouse, rocky beach, great seafood restaurants, and miles of open space. That's exactly what Maine is like, no illusions.
I recommend Olgonquin, ME- the French Canadian "Florida"-as many Quebecua make this their Summer vacation. (The beach sand somehow lights up at night while you're walking, some kind of fluorescent stone or quartz-no lie).
Again, you won't find any gory Marriott or Radisson, almost all the hotels and motels are locally owned and run. Very 'Mom & Pop' feel to it. The water's colder but the area and people make up for it.

How's it scary because you want to see it? I'm highly fascinated with the Holocaust, and it would be educational.

The damn thing asked for my ultimate trip. It doesn't involve a Prince. They're something I'd really like to see. Not to mention, while on a trip touring, you'd find things on the way. You'd be in Germany to see Dachau, and experience the German culture. You'd travel to Poland...rolleyes

A close second, I'd like to see the Valley of the Kings.

Well I thought about this one a long time.
Thanks for asking...BECAUSE
I just went into this beautiful fantasy...
won an amazing fantasy/prize
trip with back stage passes and everything.
My favorite entertainer invited me to ride to the
after/party in his limo...party was at his hotel.
He sang my favorite song to me personally...
Thanks again for asking...I had a wonderful time..love
and I did not even have to leave the PC.

(gotta get this powerful imagination worked on
before it gets me into trouble)
So...how's everybody doing? smile

I recently heard on the radio that a magazine was offering cryogenic freezing as a prize. I didn't catch the whole piece, so I'm a bit sketchy on the details.
I assume the freezing would take place after death, otherwise it would limit the appeal somewhat.

Are we getting paid for this?

An all expense paid trip to the South by Southwest Music conference. (In Austin? Suddenly I can't remember where in Texas...)
Camping Gear (tent, backpack, & rain poncho at least) and a trip to the Glastonbury music Festival in England.
A trip to the Sundance Film Festival... Or even Cannes for that matter.

Hmmm... I'm on a festival thing today.

Round the World Air Ticket for me and a friend, stopping at 6 destinations of my choice. Staying in the best hotels, with a chauffered limousine on hand and enough spending money to live lavishly during my vacation. Money to pay my bills back home for a month or two while I indulge in my new lifestyle. All first class, of course.

I'd call it "Around the world in a month"

Alternatively, I'd quite like:

- a trip in the space shuttle
- to be able to throw a party on my birthday for my friends in a small venue, with bands of my choice performing
- a trip on the QEII in the best cabin they have
- hire of Concorde for the day OR John Travolta's plane (with him as pilot)
- a ride in a MIG
- the opportunity to own a lamborghini
- to direct a music video (preferably a Prince one!)
- to attend the Oscars (and the parties)
- to "be" Chaka Khan
- to work on a reserve in Africa/elephant sanctuary
- to swim with dolphins in the wild
- to see whales, polar bears, wolves etc
- to visit Antartica

Reasons:
- all of these are things I could never afford to do, or couldn't arrange by myself.
