Vet Suspected of Punching Dog this is so sad and messed up.....
http://www.firstcoastnews...ryid=84091 Vet Suspected of Punching Dog, Dislodging Its Eye A Sun City West veterinarian was arrested on suspicion of punching a five-pound Chihuahua five times in the head. Photo by Maricopa County Sheriffâs Office. By Becky Bartkowski The Arizona Republic SUN CITY, AZ -- A Sun City West veterinarian was arrested on suspicion of punching a five-pound Chihuahua five times in the head, temporarily blinding one eye of the dog. Dr. Joshua Winston faces charges of animal cruelty and theft, according to a prepared statement from Maricopa County Sheriff's office. Winston allegedly struck the Chihuahua's head five times and dislodged the dog's eye on June 4, according to the statement. The dog needed corrective surgery after the incident, according to the statement. "Bella (the Chihuahua) has a good chance of regaining sight," said Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Two veterinary technicians witnessed the abuse and said that the uncooperative dog angered Winston, according to that statement. "We concentrate on anybody; anybody who abuses animals will go to jail," Arpaio said. "It's discouraging that this would occur," Arpaio said. Winston also faces theft charges from an incident earlier this year. The sheriff's department said Winston was supposed to vaccinate a feisty Neapolitan Mastiff, according to the statement. Winston put the medication down the sink, instead of vaccinating the dog, and charged the dog's owner $80, according to the statement. "We don't give them (animal abusers) a court summons, we take them to jail," Arpaio said. "I hope that this is just an isolated incident." Winston worked as the only doctor at the Sun City West Animal Hospital, near West Camino Del Sol and NRH Johnson Boulevard. Arpaio said that these were the only incidents brought to officials' attention by the veterinary assistants. Arpaio said that if customers had concerns, officials would investigate the allegations. No one from the animal hospital was available to comment. If U don't know someone with Autism....... U will...... April is Autism awareness month.... please get involved....

Oh hell no! He should lose his license too! How can you abuse defenseless beings like that?! I have a 7 pound Italian Greyhound and would go postal if a vet hurt my dog. We would BOTH be in jail after I finished tearing his office and his ass apart.

that's so hard to read about.
Lots of vets get burned out and some of them start doing things they shouldn't. This doctor doesn't sound right in the head...I hope he gets the punishment he deserves and the help that he so obviously needs.

5 lbs. The vet needs anger management if he can't handle unruly animals. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Let's be realistic here. A dog is supposed to be a mans best friend at the end of the day. So, the only way I figure that the Vet could have lost his composure is if the dog bit him in his balls. [Edited 7/11/07 14:17pm]

Agreed. That vet definitely should not have a license, after what he did. That poor dog! RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Agreed. That vet definitely should not have a license, after what he did. That poor dog! That poor man especially if that dog bit him in his nuts prior to him punching it. As I stated previously, Let's be realistic here. A dog is supposed to be a mans best friend at the end of the day. So, the only way I figure that the Vet could have lost his composure is if the dog bit him in his balls.

Even if the dog DID bite the vet in the nuts, that's STILL no excuse for the vet to punch him. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

The point is that if an animal has his teeth locked on his balls, how would expect the average man to act. Besides, the Vet would probably be too embarassed to admit that a dog had lockjaw on his balls.

Why would someone want to punch a poor helpless dog? I mean what fault does an innocent living being have that he/she had to be punched? I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

Yeah, it's one thing to reflexively shove a big dog away who just tried to bite you or something (though most people who work regularly with animals learn to have some control over those impulses, so as not to accidentally hurt a critter). But to hit a tiny dog multiple times. . . oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

So it's safe to say that this vet lost it and is embarassed not only of his actions but of the actions of the dog mouth wrapped around his balls.

Yeah,I think the media would've had a field day if the dog had bitten the vet in his man zone. I think it'd be a part of the headline too. They love a good when animals attack story. I'm sure if that was the case, then he'd admit to it, because it wouldn't make him look as bad. The dog was probably just refusing treatment, perhaps even snapping at him. It just sounds like the man loses his cool easily considering the other incident with him and the other uncooperative dog. Speaking of dog bites.....my brother recently was bitten by a pit bull/boxer mix. He's still waiting to see if the dog has rabies. I told him to go ahead and get a tetanus shot. I think they're gonna put the dog down, because this wasn't the first incident where their dog has tried to attack people. I was told the dog even tried to attack the animal control officer. That's fucked up when people let their dogs (who are known for attacking others) just run free terrorizing the neighborhood.

For all we know, they may have did him a favor by suppressing this fact because this man would have been ridiculed harshly on the Late Night Shows like nobodies business.
