Denzel went wrong w/ that futuristic movie where he wore some kinda blue leather suit I walked out on Kevin Spacey in that Pay It Forward shit Sean Penn did that Interpreter boredom DeNiro can kiss it w/ the Meet the Parents franchise I guess Angela Bassett hasn't offended me w/ any of her choices Jeffrey Wright also, but honestly I don't know his body of work as well as I should. I'll watch them in anything UNTIL they steer me wrong I guess Pacino & Ellen Barkin too, they have me actually wanting to see Oceans 13 I was thinking the same thing about Ocean's 13. Ellen Barkin, that's ma grrrl. She makes me look forward to getting older, she's in such great shape. It's time for her to stay away from the surgeon's knife facewise, though. I was watching her in an indie film ('Palindrome', I think), and girlfriend was looking CRAZY, she got that 'stretched' look now

It's lasting a couple of months. What are your favorite Barbara Stanwyck movies? besides Lady Eve, that is. I'll go see that one. I was watching her in an indie film ('Palindrome', I think), and girlfriend was looking CRAZY, she got that 'stretched' look now Really? I didn't think she'd had anything done Girl, if you could see her in Palindrome, you'd just be like 'WHY, ELLEN? WHY?' She's at that point where she had just OOOONE procedure too many. I blame it on the fact that she was with Lou Perlman...something about women when they fall into that whole 'I'm married to a New York mogul so I'm playing the ladies-who-lunch-high society' game...they get caught up in a new version of 'keeping up with the Joneses' & start taking that surgery thing a little too far. I just hope the procedures stop here because one more face nip and she's going to start looking 'Joan River-ish' That's still my girl, though. And her body is BANGIN' (!)...she inspires me to drag my lazy ass to the gym to hit the treadmill

Scorsese Woody Allen Christopher Nolan David Lynch Darren Aranofsky Robert Altman Richard Linklater Peter Jackson Prince okay, so did you ever actually see Inland Empire? no, but the question is about whose stuff would you see, right? I'll get to that on DVD. Actually I don't think I've seen all of the films of any of those directors, except maybe Christopher Nolan. My Legacy

It was better than I expected, but I saw too much of myself in the main character which I found disturbing considering how the movie ended. I like Charlotte Gainsbourg. Her album 5:55 is fantastic.

You know what movie of hers I love that hardly anybody watched? Sunshine State. I loved that movie. Cate Blanchett Helen Mirren Clive Owen Daniel Craig Ryan Gosling I saw Sunshine State in the theater and thought it was fine, but wondered what the whole point was really. Perhaps I was expecting a bigger denouement. Helen Mirren--one day I'll get around to watching Caligula.

heartbeatocean said: NDRU said: totally agree. Even worse is casting famous people to do voice work. Often they're only passable as movie stars because of their looks. Julia Roberts & Cameron Diaz are not what I'd consider "great voices." I know, it's so stupid. Basically in this star worshipping culture, a film cannot get made or financed unless tied to an a-list or b-list actor. Actors have so much power in the industry now, they are producing their own and others' movies, as they are now some of the few who can afford it. They are in the power to decide what gets made and what doesn't. Basically the nation's cultural output depends on what actors want to do. It's all so meaningless. I was watching recently the extras on the DVD of Days Of Glory (Indigènes) and the director said ten years ago, the movie couldn't have been made because there weren't any big name French-Arab actors at the time to justify its budget. Today, however with Jamel Debbouze being such a big French star, once he signed on to play one of the soldiers and helped finance the film, everything else fell into place. So sometimes actors having a lot of power can be a good thing.

Mine: Cate Blanchett Johnny Depp Isabelle Huppert Scarlett Johansson Samantha Morton Christina Ricci Kristin Scott Thomas The Man Who Cried had the trifecta of Christina Ricci, Johnny Depp and Cate Blanchett and it was three times as bad. ooooh, good choices! i'd take all of these, except maybe christina ricci. then i'd add some of these old skoolers to my list: meryl streep goldie hawn sally field al pacino dustin hoffman then my 'singer/actresses' streisand and ross... I have an unhealthy fascination with Christina Ricci. I think her forehead has hypnotized me.
