Falling in love on the internet?

Can this really happen? Has anyone ever actually fallen in love over the internet?

I've made friends I love dearly on the Internet, so I say why not.
Some of these folks I'm resigned to thinking I will never meet to.

shrug I think the modern age has allowed people supplement some of their personal "real" relationships with Internet ones, though admittantly, I don't know if this is a good thing, and pretty much think the lines blur anyways.

It's better than blind dating I guess. falloff

Of course it can happen, it's just not the best idea.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I cant communicate with people on a keyboard like i can in real life. U know, body language etc...communication and body language, at least to me, are very important. U cant fake body language, but there is no such thing as that online. I also use my body alot to express myself. U know, goofy shit like pull faces, sing, smile, laugh. Little things like that u cannot do online. Or at least, i cant.

I *hate* blind dating. Only done it 3 times, and twice cause I was begged to.
The problem is that you're meeting somebody you don't even know, so your basically gambling on the fact that they won't absolutely hate something you like becuase of some post traumatic past experience they've had.

You order the chicken, and maybe their pet duck just died or some shit. HOw did you know? How did you know???

I'm a goverment employee remember? Mine so beats yours.

PS.

I was waiting for you to say no, so I could claim I was heartbroken and use our little exchange as an example to illustrate why on line romance is one of the worst choices you could ever make for yourself.

Crap now I'm stuck with you. neutral

I don't believe in finding love on the internet, but I am not saying it can not happen.
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

I was gonna say.... lol

And yeah, I suppose it's possible. Online can be "real life" if you choose it to be. If you choose to let it all hang out and be yourself truly, etc. I can't imagine anyone actually sustaining a relationship solely online, however. But I think that's a different question.
And as sweeny pointed out, not always the best idea. lol

I guess because Iam pretty ugly, it would be very hard for me to maybe make conections on the internet, but luckily in real life, whilst Iam still of course ugly, I can feed people through my personality. It doesn't always work, but it has done. As I said, on the internet, personality is derived through what you type, not how you speak

sure, for some people it is much easier to get to know someone online than in real life if they are very shy.

U reckon people are less shy on the internet? In real life, iam not shy, and ditto on here. But i cant send blind orgnotes to people, but can go up to a stranger and start talking to them. I mean, before u approach a stranger, u can tell if they want you to talk to them or not, but cant on here. I have nothing to say on here at all.

Fauxie

I wouldn't be married to my wife now if it weren't for the internet. We'd already met in real life and decided to stay friends, but without the emailing and chat and whatnot we wouldn't have hooked up.
