You know I rarely disagree with what you post.. if I can understand it, that is.
But it's almost like with quantum physics, some of your posts... if you think you understand it, you really don't?

hmmm

And I very much agree with what you're saying, I think.

biggrin

We'd all be a lot more miserable if we didn't uphold some kind of variation on that, for a healthy self image...

I think we're all pretty dumb when measured against true objective reality, call it your God or supreme universal conciousness inhabiting every neutron, the knots in the net or whatever. And beauty, like all things, is obviously similarly subjective to individual perception. There is no defintive version of any truth. Everything is based on illusion and delusion, especially, well, we wont go there.

Shut up before I cut you.

Shiiiiit. I'll take the looks, from there I'll get the most intelligent partner for balance.

An intelligent potential partner will be looking for somebody who ain't just pretty. Pretty fades (and bores). wink

I kinda do, although everyone tells me you're not like this in reality. As long as you're up for a piss-up I'm game, though.

Top scientists say intelligence leads to depression, suicide and flagrant disregard for doctrane bestowed morality frameworks.

Well, if top scientists know, why bother to ask me? lol

Nah...it can also lead to getting a good education, i.e. a medical degree or PhD, having a substantial income and a fulfilling career. Not that that necessarily leads to happiness for all people...but it can certainly be a life of passion and contribution...and when you're talking about "getting further in life" that means more to me than having the looks to marry a millionaire three times my age. Not to mention intelligence can lead to a deeper experience of life which I think is a good thing.

Intelligence has serious drawbacks too -- knowledge can be hell/ignorance is bliss, isolation from society, the agony of thwarted potential -- but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Given the right opportunities it can, it can be used productively or you could just self destruct.

2 equally intelligent/unintelligent people go to a job interview. The more attractive one gets the job neutral that is how.

But then you're saying that having both gets you further in life than just having intelligence. But that's a given...

no, if both were equally stupid or smart, the more attractive one will get further

Okay, this hits the nail on the head.

It doesn't matter what you have or what you are. It's what you do with it that matters.

Ms. Page was a character actor. The fact that she conveyed ugliness, when she wasn't in real life, is a testament to her talent. IMHO.

I wouldn't want to become extremely intelligent overnight, because then there would be no challenge left to life.

I wouldn't want to be extremely attractive either, because then people would only see my value in something that at the end of the day is pretty fucking useless.

I guess, given the option, I'd just decide to work with what I have.

BEAUTIFUL!

I was listening to this conversation
Noticing my daydream stimulated me more
I was crumbling with anticipation
You'd better send me home before I tumble down to the floor

You're so beautiful but oh so boring
I'm wondering what am I doing here
So beautiful but oh so boring, I'm wondering
If anyone out there really cares
About the curlers in your hair
My little golden baby, where have all your birds flown now?

Something's glistening in my imagination
Motorvatin' something close to breaking the law
Wait a mo' before you take me down to the station
I've never known a one who'd make me suicidal before

He was so beautiful but oh so boring
I'm wondering what was I doing there
So beautiful but oh so boring, I'm wondering
If anyone out there really cares
About the colour of your hair
My little golden baby, where have all your birds flown now?
