What's your cultural background?

It is summer and time to learn about different cultures even if school is out. So what is your cultural background?

I am Mexican-America-Spanish ancestors.

I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

My parents and siblings were all born in Mexico. I was the first born in the U.S. All of my family are now citizens. My husband was also born in Mexico, but we speak mostly english to our kids. Our children are as american as apple pie.

I was born in Mexicali Baja California Mexico. I moved here when I was around 4 years old. They call people from Mexicali or "Chicali" CACHANILLAS. I don't know why.

My dad was born in La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico. My mom was born in McNary, Texas.

I have always thought I was adopted and feel like I have some Mayan ancestry. I believe my dad is my biological dad. I don't think my mom was.

Either way they were incredible parents. I LOVVVEEEEED mi MAMA! I'm so much like her. I still have my dad and I adore him.

I live in Australia, but was born in Scotland, raised by English parents and have Scottish/English/Irish + some minor Jewish and general Northern European blood.

I spent a good deal of my early to mid- twenties in Oregon for romantic reasons so I have a fucked up accent occasionally.

Born and raised in Germany, both parents are Turkish, from the westcoast/Agaen Sea region...growing up, I used to have a lot of American friends and we would do a lot of things together so I picked up the language very early. My German foster parents used to work for the US Army, and the American families would often stay for a couple of years. I also spent a lot of time with my Turkish relatives when I was little because my parents had sent me there around the age of five or six.
I speak three languages fluently and understand a little bit of French, and bits and pieces of Italian and Spanish.

....and I also have some British connections lol because of an ex-girlfriend.

where i live in SAfrica, it is now winter. i have a heater next to my legs smile. Culturally, I have no label. I am influenced by the Rastafari way of life, but do not label myself.

culture, though needed by some, also acts as walls which divide and separate people, the same way religion and war do the same.

in my blood, i have the blood of the khoisan people, Xhosa people and Europeans. my surname is dutch in origin, as a result of my country being settled by Dutch people in the past.
