last week my yard was teeming with dragonflies! every time you walked through a door or past a bush
the air would suddenly swarm with skittish dragonflies. there must have been at least 40 or 50

this guy wasn't quite so skittish and let me photograph him. earlier when i was settling up my sunshade one just lit on my arm...
i contemplated walking in the house like that to get the camera but thought better of it till he flew away.



here's what one corner of my yard looks like... kind of a hodge podge. my vegetable garden is behind that fence - peas, carrots, cucumbers, potatoes, spinach, corn and pumpkins. i have watermelon vines too but they have been sooooo slow i doubt they will do anything. i had a handful of raspberries off the 4 plants on the left and plan to build a strawberry box where i have my delphiniums. and sometime i have to dig up that damn tree stump

any other gardeners out there?

butterflies and birds
rabbits and frogs
foxes and mice
pure wildlife going on

my sis and kids were home for swimming lessons and
that was the highlight of the trip back and forth everyday
for them... to spot the roadkill fox and coyote on the highway
