I've had some excitement in my life recently and wanted to share it with you all.

First was my trip to St. Maarten with friends for some much needed relaxation. We went to the movies, did some shopping, ate at an amazing french restaurant among other places, and went clubbing. All in all it was a good weekend.

Now, I have to tell you guys, I live on a tropical island. This is why I was in St. Maarten in July and also why I took a picture of this:

Because we don't have one so it was kind of a novelty

On our last day we hung out at the Sunset Beach Bar which is directly behind the airport. You can watch the planes fly in and see the jet blasts over the ocean as the planes take off. Here are some pics of that:







The other exciting event in my life is that.....I SPAYED MY FIRST DOG LAST FRIDAY. For those who don't know, I'm in veterinary school, so it's not like I just spayed some dog in my kitchen or something...it was an actual surgical procedure. My professor said that my team and I did an excellent job and the patient has lived to tell the tale. She was adopted by one of my surgery partners and I have a few cute pics of her that were taken this afternoon when I went to recheck her incision:





Her name is Jaeda and she was abondoned on the beach a few days before we spayed her. She is an absolute sweetie.

she's doing very well and recovered very quickly. she doesn't even have any swelling near the icision and she's playing and acting like she never even had surgery!
