This year's first Big Brother "twist" is that three of the houseguests were suprised to learn they'd be spending the summer with their mortal enemies:

Carol and Jessica were high school rivals.
Danielle and Dick are estranged father and daughter who haven't spoken in two years.
Dustin and Joe are ex-lovers.


What's that you say? "Please, Ace: tell me more about the '07 hamsters!!!"? Alrighty, then...


Amber:
Single-mother, Cocktail Waitress with a Heart O'Gold.

Carol:
Student who finds Jen "annoying" (translation: she's jealous of the bitch). Still owes Jessica five dollars.

Danielle:
Beach bunny waitress who's 20, but is claiming to be 21. Doesn't like evil dick.

Dick:
Goes by "Evil Dick". Nuff said.

Dustin:
Says Joe slept with his friend, they had "pushing-and-shoving" fights afterwards, and that his ex is "very manipulative and has giant nipples".

Eric:
Advertising-office gopher. Is "America's Player" (dumb new twist that will have the viewing audience secretly giving him instructions). Is "from New York City" (translation: Jewish).

Jameka:
School counselor. Token Person of Color. Not used to "being around all these white people".

Jen:
The Conceited Model/Actress Wannabe.

Jessica: Hates Carol. Still holds a grudge about the five bucks she didn't pay her back SEVEN. FUCKING. YEARS. AGO.

Joe:
Children's hair salon receptionist. Told the houseguests that Dustin gave him gonorrhea. Has huge nipples. Not "incredibly flexible in (his) nether regions".

Kail:
Multi-small-business owner who's claiming to be a humble real estate agent, in hopes of not falling victim to the "He/she doesn't need the money" dillio. The Homophobe.

Mike:
The hunky "painting contractor" (translation: house painter).

Nick:
The hunky ex-pro football player. Is like, totally, "dreamy". Amber is like, totally crushing out on him.

Zach:
Graphic designer with overly-ambitious smile. The only way I can tell him apart from Evil Dick is his lack of stylin' soul patch.

Actually, there were some very interesting HouseGuests (that's how CBS spells it ) the past couple of seasons.

Okay, second impressions:


Amber: cries a lot and is workin' the working-class-single-mother thing like its rent's due tomorrow.

Carol: cute, but boring.

Daniele: not my type (looks-wise or personality).

Dick: dick.

Dustin: don't mind him as much as I thought I would. Possibly a decent guy.

Eric: likeable, but I hate the America's Player angle.

Jameka: Flying under the radar. Maybe still weirded out by all the white folk?

Joe: drama queen. Seems like every time the camera is on him, he's accusing Dustin of giving him gonorrhea. ...Oh! And it's his areolas which are large (although not "gigantic").

Jessica: a Southern, small-town Paris Hilton.

Jen: Bawled when she saw her BB pic. Snooty, insecure bee-yotch.

Kail: Homophobe. I ain't down with the bigots.

Mike & Nick: have the same personality: non-existent.

Zach: Always has that ridiculous, clenched-teeth, stretched-mouth smile on his face.




Kail, like the dumb bigot she is, ignored her son's advice to fly under the radar and won the first Head of Household. She has nominated Amber and Carol for eviction, claiming she's only done so because they were the first ones eliminated from the HoH competition.

Tuesday sees the "Power of Veto" comp, the winner of which has the ability to veto one of the nominations (in which case, the HoH must make another).

For all of you outside of North America - as you can see - the American BB rules are different than in other countries. They were changed for Season 2, after the viewers voted out all of the "troublemakers" and left the show about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Nah, I've been gettin' kinda bored with ANTM. Right now, Canada's Next Top Model is on (hosted by Jay Manuel) and I've already bailed on that. Britain's Next Top Model is also showing here and I only watched one ep.
This week, TLC launches A Model Life. I might check it out, but right now I'm all about Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List and BB!

BBUS is too scripted and controled, the UK version is better. You can't hatch plans and discuss nominations in the UK, nor can you form cliques and influence voting.
