I think she occasionally makes some bad decisions but for the most part she's intelligent. She tells it like it is and doesn't feel the need to be pc. Sometimes that leaves her seemingly cold or insensitive. But from a reasoning stand point she makes arguments about worthwhile subjects and delivers them intelligently. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

Nobody that hateful should be taken seriously. The woman, like most far-rights and far-lefts, operates on such a closed-minded circuit with no room for even a CONSIDERATION of any other viewpoint; no matter how "intelligent" she might be, that fact alone renders her useless to any greater cause. [Edited 7/6/07 20:48pm] I don't really know what's in her heart. I only know that some of her arguments are reasonable. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

Nah. She doesn't really. http://www.youtube.com/wa...IsvMSEYiK4 She missed one fact. I still think alot of topics she talks about are worthy of discussion and she makes good points. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

Elizabeth Edwards asked her to stop attacking her husband. That's kinda foul...she's attacking this guy while this guy's wife is fighting cancer for the second time. Coulter is pretty low for attacking a guy who's got a lot of personal stuff to deal with

greenpixies said: Imago said: She missed one fact. I still think alot of topics she talks about are worthy of discussion and she makes good points. Actually, Ann's strong point is not facts--she always gets those wrong or out of context. Her strength is that she rallies your middle class conservative--your bread and butter conservative to her cause (whatever that may be ). I doubt true intellectual conservatives find her points very interesting. She's more an entertainer or coffee table conservative figure than anyone with anything interesting to say. Books like Slander have been so heavily refuted and errors and misrepresentations so heavily documented she makes Michael Moore look like a historian. But they're gutsy, they're fiesty, and they're entertaining to middle class conservatives tired of feeling like their America is being taken from them. This of course, doesn't make her a great intellectual mind on any matters of politics (though I presume here as I don't much like politics). I mean, if you want to debate Nome Chompski you ain't gonna send Ann Coulter with high hopes of winning. That's why they pair her against the likes of Al Frankin now. But I agree with INSATIABLE that the tone of her rhetoric is so hateful that it really can't be considered true political discourse. It's conservative coffe table entertainment. Unfortunately, your "coffee table" liberal gets all riled over it cause they find her to be a threat, though I can't imagine why cause her ideas are just a dog and pony show of the issues at hand and only kind of skim the surface of the liberal-vs-conservative "battle". The tone of this I found absolutely tacky and counter productive to the "conservative agenda ". And Edwards is correct in saying that it draws people away from the process. http://www.youtube.com/wa...xYcUQiJ3sk If anyone finds anything of value in Coulters comments here I'd love to see it I mean, to attack the mother who lost a child with such circus bravado is just tacky.

I just don't see her scathing style as productive in any way. If her intent is to truly improve society in some form, why is she such a butthole about it? The only thing sicker than politicians/talking heads bent on dividing the people are the citizens/blind followers who actually feel just and righteous by participating in being part of any kind of human segregation.
Yeah, I've had a few martinis, wanna fight about it? Oh shit, my hat done fell off

Here's a couple choice morsels. Chomp chomp.
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war." "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building." "If we're so cruel to minorities, why do they keep coming here? Why aren't they sneaking across the Mexican border to make their way to the Taliban?" "Whether they are defending the Soviet Union or bleating for Saddam Hussein, liberals are always against America. They are either traitors or idiots, and on the matter of America's self-preservation, the difference is irrelevant." Oh shit, my hat done fell off
