I'll be going tomorrow to Tenerife with my friend and his (now ex-)girlfriend. I'll be staying for a week and they'll stay for two weeks. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here had been to this sunny island.
I'll be staying in the southern part of the island, near the Playa de las Americas beach. I'm wondering if y'all know of any cool activities there, anything that doesn't involve sunbathing alot.
I have very light skin so I burn easily. I tried going to a tanning salon last week and I burned badly on my legs and a few other places and am still recovering from that, so I can't be in the sun too long. Also, I'm wondering if there are any cool bars and clubs there I should check out. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Yeah, I spent a week there many years ago. Maybe it's evolved since then but I remember it as being very touristy and all about the sun and the beach and the cheap bars. If you're up for that kind of thing then great, but since you have a problem with the sun then maybe it's not the best place to be at. Then again, there are parasols.

I guess when my friend's (then) girlfriend suggested I should come with them to Tenerife for my summer holiday I wasn't really considering how badly I tend to burn at these kind of summer resorts... I sunburnt in Benidorm in '99 and also in Mallorca in '02, so I'm used to it I guess.

But as I said, things have changed a bit since I bought the trip in May, but I'm hoping the best of course. I'll just have to make up for my lack of daytime activities by partying harder in the evenings.

I went to tenerife with a friend of mine when I was 14 or 15, so I guess our activities there aren't quite what you're looking for..

Unless you wanna read a Prince-book or take pictures of your friend in just her bra's, streaking on their balcony and climbing up palm trees..
